Black Kats clinch spot in final

The Clément-Cormier Cavaliers and the Louis-J.-Robichaud Patriotes both stand at a tie and a loss after the first day of the tournament. In the first games, the Leo Hayes Lions edged the Cavaliers 3-2 while the Fredericton High Black Kats defeated the Patriotes 3-1. Maxime Poirier and Mathieu Poirier scored for the Cavaliers. Yannick Donelle had the lone Patriotes’ goal. In the evening, Clément-Cormier and Louis-J.-Robichaud played to a 1-1 tie. Maxime Poirier and Yannick Donelle were the only players to beat the opposing goaltender. Olivier Dallaire of the Cavaliers made 35 saves while Samuel Ouellette of the Patriotes faced 22 shots. A late goal gave the Black Kats a 3-2 victory over the Lions in the other game. Tomorrow morning has Fredericton High playing against Clément-Cormier and Leo Hayes facing Louis-J.-Robichaud to determine the second team that will move on to the final. The Black Kats have already clinched their spot with two wins.
